Sara Pinkerton,

Sara Pinkerton is a board-certified physician assistat who began practicing at OrthoArkansas in 2024 and works directly with fellowship-trained conservative and interventional spine care physician, Dr. Stephen Paulus, in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine problems.

She has a diverse background in patient care and clinical research. She earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Christian Brothers University, following a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Biology with a Minor in Psychology from Arkansas Tech University, where she graduated Cum Laude. Sara has worked as a Physician Associate and Clinical Research Sub Investigator, contributing to research in various medical fields. She has also gained valuable experience as a Medical Assistant and X-Ray Technician, as well as a Patient Care Technician in a neurological unit, providing hands-on care to patients with various neurological conditions.

Sara is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants as well as a member of Pi Alpha Physician Assistant Honor Society.

Sara has participated in several mission trips, where she has contributed through volunteer work and support for underserved communities. She plans to continue participating in medical mission trips in the future, seeking opportunities to serve and make a positive impact in communities around the world. Outside of work, Sara is a member of First Baptist Church, and she enjoys reading, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.

As a PA, Sara is required to complete at least 100 hours of continuing education every two years and pass a re-certifying board exam every 10 years. PAs are overseen by their supervising physician and the Arkansas State Medical Board. In practice, PAs are considered an extension of their supervising physician. Sara's training as an advanced practice provider enhances the depth of knowledge, flow of communication, and quality of patient care in the clinic.
