About Dr. Matthew Burn

Matthew Burn, MD, specializes in hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow surgery with advanced training in wrist arthroscopy, nerve conditions and microsurgery. He has a special interest in wrist injuries, traumatic injuries of the upper extremity, and nerve compression/injuries. His goal is to collaborate with patients to find the most-effective and least-invasive, individualized approach to treat their problem and return them to the activities that they love.

Dr. Burn is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, completed a fellowship in hand and upper limb surgery, and has additional training in microsurgical techniques. He earned his medical doctorate from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, La., before moving to Houston, Texas, to complete his orthopedic surgery training at Houston Methodist Hospital. He completed a hand and upper limb fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

After fellowship, he returned to his program in Houston to take on a position training future orthopedic surgeons. He worked at both Houston Methodist Hospital treating adults and Shriner’s Hospital for Children treating children. He has more than 26 peer-reviewed publications including four book chapters, and has made more than 30 presentations at national conferences. He is excited to call Little Rock home to help care for the people of Arkansas.

Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Burn enjoys running, fishing, hiking, and spending time with his lovely wife, four children, and two dogs.
