Jasen C. Chi, M.D.

Dr. Chi, who has an interest in biochemistry and immunology, finds great satisfaction in helping patients with autoimmune conditions and severe rheumatoid arthritis control their disease and attain an excellent quality of life.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Chi received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Following an internship and a residency in internal medicine at Methodist Le Bonheur Hospital, Memphis, Dr. Chi returned to Little Rock for a fellowship in rheumatology at UAMS.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Chi and his family moved to Little Rock about 25 years ago to become involved in the restaurant industry. With this background, he still spends much of his leisure time in the kitchen cooking and creating new dishes. He also enjoys building mountain bikes (a hobby he learned in college while working to pay his way through school), traveling and tennis. Dr. Chi says that working at OrthoArkansas and being able to live in Little Rock with his wife, Thuy Hoang Chi, and his family is a dream-come-true.

Dr. Chi's Advanced Practice Nurse

Debra Brent was born in Benton, Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock for her undergraduate and graduate programs. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree in 1994 and her Masters in Nursing degree in 1999. She holds a National Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practiontioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Since becoming an Advanced Practice Nurse she has enjoyed her experience in the fields of Cardiolgy, Internal Medicine and now Rheumatology. She joined Dr. Jasen Chi at OrthoArkansas in 2010 and is a member of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals.

She has served as team leader for several medical mission trips to Peru through her church, Geyer Spring First Baptist Church. She has a deep passion for helping those in under served areas and currently is a member of the mission board at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church helping to reach and serve those within her local community.

She and her husband live in Benton, Arkansas with their two sons. They are very active with their church and enjoy spending time at the lake and participating in outdoor activities.

Dr. Chi’s Physician Assistant

Originally from Dripping Springs, TX, Jordan Waldron attending Texas A&M University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences. She then continued her education and completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree at Harding University. Jordan is a member of the American College of Rheumatology’s ARHP. She is also a member of the Arkansas Academy of Physician Assistants.

As a student, Jordan had the opportunity to join Dr. Chi on several rotations. This opportunity ignited her passion for providing medical care to the aging population. She began as a practicing Physician Assistant in January 2016. Jordan works with Dr. Chi and Debra Brent to provide ongoing care to patients with autoimmune disease and other musculoskeletal disorders. When asked what she enjoys most about her work, she responded that she “loves[s] improving patient’s quality of life and educating patients about their disease and overall health.”

When Jordan isn’t caring for her patients, she enjoys exploring Central Arkansas with her six year old beagle, Copper.
